Extremely walkable on East 6th St. in the heart of Austin’s downtown entertainment district, Inn Cahoots offers stylish & spacious accommodations for large groups! The hybrid hotel / short-term rental model allows us to offer our guests the best of both worlds: the comfort of a private living room and fully equipped kitchen coupled with the standards of a hotel.
This is our listing for Unit 1, a first floor, split level 2100 sq. ft. townhome-style suite that features a private chef’s kitchen, living, dining area & half bath downstairs, plus 5 bedrooms (w/ up to 13 beds) & 3 full bathrooms upstairs! Unit 1 looks directly out into our garden and venue area. For those traveling during the week you can rest assured that when we have on site music performances, this only takes place on the weekends.
Guests also have access to an amazing pool, rooftop bar with amazing views of downtown, a swanky cocktail lounge, and garden space where you'll find outdoor games, food trucks and live music!
The Space
Our place is a creative space that is tailor-made to suit large groups and guarantee an exciting and comfortable stay. Every unit has a large lounge/ living space, full size kitchen, dining tables, plus bedrooms and bathrooms. The units also have a unique, luxurious and professional design to help you enjoy whatever brings you to Austin. From family reunions, to birthday celebrations, to bachelor/ette parties, to corporate retreats, we specialize in helping large groups create memorable moments together!!
We have hosted several iconic celebrities at our downtown property including huge bands and professional sports players. You never know who is going to pop up at Inn Cahoots!
Given our flexible layout, we have two other adjacent units (Unit 2 & 3) just like this one (Unit 1). The first floor living spaces of these three units are separated by retractable walls that can be opened or closed to combine the downstairs living spaces (only applicable if more than one of the units are rented by your group). They also have exterior-facing, frosted glass garage doors that open out onto the pool veranda, creating an indoor/outdoor feel!
The other two units (Unit 4 & Unit 5) are single-level suites with kitchen, living, dining area, plus 4 bedrooms (w/ up to 11 beds) and 3 full bathrooms all on the third floor. Unit 5 has the added bonus of a private, outdoor patio area! You can rent one individual unit, or any combination of units. We also offer full buyouts!
Note: All five units are fully self-contained and private. The pool will be private to each unit for 3 hours every day, scheduled online by you! Please ask our team about hours of operation for the roofdeck bar!
In addition to your own private unit, which includes a living room, full chef’s kitchen, 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, you will have access to:
Pool & Pool Courtyard Area, which will be available for your group to privately reserve for 2-hour time slots each day of your stay!
We will be there for your check-in so that we can give you a tour of the property and after that we will give you space, but will be available for you should you need us.
Other Things To Note
Every unit is equipped with an iPad that connects to speakers for wireless music control!
The pool is small (about 8x24ft). It's perfect for cooling off during the hot summer months in Austin, and enjoyed in the off season, but please note the pool is not heated. Your group will be able to privately reserve the pool for a 3-hour time slot each day of your stay!
We have limited on-site parking available for guests (3 spots), but there is plenty of metered street parking nearby and off-site parking can be arranged by request! The on-site spots are first-come, first-serve.
With one of the best locations you will find in the city, we are located on East 6th street, an area frequented by food and drink enthusiasts in Austin. The street is filled with great bars and restaurants as well as breweries and coffee shops. It is also within walking distance to the historic "dirty" 6th street area, Rainey Street, and West 6th street. We're also a short drive from South Congress, Barton Springs, and Town Lake. This is truly the perfect place to enjoy what Austin has to offer!!

-- The pool (Located a few steps from the unit) can be made private for 3 hours a day during your stay, or you can choose to use it when it's not in use and share with other groups (often pretty fun!). It can even be turned into a hot tub during winter months - it goes up to 103 degrees!
-- We have on-site maintenance and cleaning crews to make sure the trip goes off without a hitch! Before check-in, units go through multiple walks to confirm they are ready. All linens are hotel-quality (check out the reviews on our beds!)
-- Our rooftop overlooks downtown, and has some of the most amazing views of downtown in the City!
-- This unit overlooks the Austin Garden and Studio, a beer garden that has food trucks, murals and live music on site! You can choose to open your door to see the band from this unit, and you can pump the music in to the living room should you want to hear the band play!
-- Our team offers full concierge services and packages to make your planning as easy as possible! We have private chefs we can recommend, and also offer in-unit bartending classes!
The Inn Cahoots team will be onsite during check-in to make sure you get settled. After that, we will give you space but are available should you need us for any reason. We are always happy to help make local recommendations, as well!
Inn Cahoots has a hotel operating license, meaning that the City code restricting the number of guests that can stay in a short-term rental does NOT apply to us! This is why we boast that we are the ONLY place in Austin that you can legally host a group of more than 6 unrelated guests or 10 adults total!
*This unit has a MAX of 13 beds: x5 queens (bottom bunk), x5 fulls (top bunk), and x3 rollaway singles. The "up to 23" number assumes guests double up in both the bottom bunk queens and top bunk fulls. We recommend no more than 18 in this unit. With 18, guests only have to double up in the bottom bunk queens.
- We charge a $25/person/night extra guest fee for each guest over 5 in this unit.
- Events such as weddings require pre-approval, and we reserve the right to charge an additional fee for such events.
- Please contact us in advance if your party includes children under the age of 18 because we sometimes host bachelor/ette parties in adjoining units.
- While we often host special events with photographers and videographers, any professional filming or photoshoots that take place onsite require advanced approval by the property owner. The distribution or posting of videography or photography taken onsite without permission is strictly prohibited.
