"We stayed at the Knotty Pine with three adult couples and two pre-teens and were all very comfortable! The layout allowed both for us to be together but also gave us privacy and space. Amenities were generous and we had everything we needed to cook a variety of meals. Some of us flew in to Grand Rapids - this is within 1 hour of the airport and easy to get to. "We (family of 4) stayed for 6 nights.. The Knotty Pine is located right at lake Michigan, a tiny little walk away from the beach. With surrounding trees and perfectly working AC it keeps you nice and cool and provides lots of privacy. As a culinary school graduate, I really enjoyed the beautiful,well equipped kitchen. Traveling with little children can be difficult at times, so having a washer and dryer was great! also Daniel provided us with a pack and play and a high chair. "I usually keep a low expectation for Airbnbs but Daniel’s exceeded even my high expectations. It’s a beautiful cabin located on a wooded hilltop right by the water. When you’re not cooking smores on the fire pit or lounging on the hammock, you can take a short walk to the lake and really soak in the sun. If you want more of a night out, the local scene has such amazing food and drink that it’ll make the trip back home even more challenging as it raised my bar for what constitutes good food." "Daniel’s place was amazing! We were looking for a quick weekend getaway with our friend group and his cabin did not disappoint. It was private and peaceful, yet was still close to the beach/lake and surrounding areas where the men could go golfing and the women could hang out at the cabin and relax. We brought my 11 month old daughter for her first vacation and she had an amazing time! Daniel already had a pack and play and a high chair along with dishes for kids and kids beach toys, which was a huge win, allowing us to have one less thing to worry about when packing! Instructions were super clear and Daniel was extremely proactive in reaching out to make sure we had everything we needed. Main Level: 1 bedroom (sleeps 2 - one queen bed) – ideal for guests preferring minimal stairs. Features en suite with large walk-in shower. There is also a queen sized, elevated Serta air mattress in the closet that can be used anywhere in the property.
Second Floor: 2 bedrooms (each sleeps 4 - one queen one bunk or trundle bed) - tree top views and views of the Lake.
Lower Level: 1 bedroom (sleeps 2 - 1 queen) – peaceful and private
Additional amenities include air mattresses, Pack ‘n Plays, and a highchair to accommodate guests of all ages

Ways to Access and Enjoy Long Stays on the Beaches of Lake Michigan near Dune Valley
Although this property has deeded access to the Lake front, it does not have deeded rights to “stationary beach use” at the bottom of our access stairs or in that area of the beach. You still have amazing very close options if you want to park yourself and some beach chairs and towels on the beach and stay awhile (see descriptions below).
You may use the deeded access for lakeside walks or accessing the Lake for swimming.
